You step into the crowd at the Twilight Club at about 11:45pm and watch the crowd. It is still a little thin to start dealing, and you haven't spotted any vampires yet.
Soon the music starts pumping and an announcer comes on a small stage, "WHAT'S UP EVERYBODY!" His voice booms around the walls and you flinch at the noise. "FORGET THE INTRODUCTIONS, LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED, WHOOOOO!" His high pitched howl and annoying yelling already have you thinking about homicide, with him as the victim. Luckily he gets off stage and the music gets louder and louder until you feel the sound vibrating your chest. The main lights dim up and the strobes come on, flashing the crowd in patterns meant to entertain anybody high on drugs. People flash in view and then vanish as the lights pass over them.
It's time to get to work, you think to yourself.
As you start dealing to those you know are easy prey, you notice that a tall white vampire is watching you. There is a look to his eye that betrays disappointment. Then he smiles after looking around the crowd. His hand comes up and waves at you to come towards him.
You wait and he nods for you to approach. You start walking towards him.
Above is a picture of the man.
When you approach him he crosses his arm across his chest and looks around casually, "What would a nice looking girl like you, be doing in a shit hole like this?" He smiles at you, "I know that sounds like a line, but oh well"
He looks directly at you and is still smiling.
"Shit hole is right," you reply with a look on your face like something smells bad, "I'm just trying to make a little money."
"So do you have anything GOOD for sale, or would you rather go somewhere and have a talk?" He grins, "I think, no, I mean, I know that I can help you out." He looks around, as if worried about eavesdroppers, "Whaddya say hon?"
"I've got some good stuff. Where do you want to talk?"
"We could talk outside, I have a cool van that we can talk in, but I am looking for a big payoff, maybe even a supplier. I am from the West Coast and my previous was killed in a stakeout." He smiles at you, "But either way I think we should talk. You are pretty cute."
Giving a sort of bashful innocent smile at his 'cute' remark, you nod and follow him out to his van. "I don't know if I could become a supplier, I'm kind of new in town and fishing around for the right crowds." You tell him.
He leads you out to his van and opens the door to let you in. It is green and nothing seems wrong with this person, although you know he's a vampire and might just be luring you into the van to feed on you. Something tells you that he is different and you step in, knowing fully well that inside the van, since it has dark windows, that should he try something, you'd have a nasty surprise waiting for him.
He steps into the van and locks the door and turns on the overhead light, "Do you have a supplier? I am looking for a big deal, we could even be partners if you like. I used to be a bodyguard so you won't have to worry about getting yourself into trouble." He smiles and with a little imagination you can picture the sharp fangs waiting under those lips, "I am new as well, I came here from Boston looking for someone and I am curious if you know any important people here. By the way, I never did catch your name, cutie."
"Well, I do have a supplier but I still need to get in his 'good graces' so to speak. I want to make sure he can trust me before I refer anyone to him. I'm afraid that for now you may have to find your own supplier or you'll have to go through me." You reply looking him up and down. "Oh yeah! My name's Kat."
"Ok Kat. Nice to meet you. I think that I will have to find someone else however. I really need to get to the big scores. Maybe you can give me his name? If not then I appreciate your help. Hopefully we can keep in touch. That would make me happy, seeing that you are the first person I have met here in town." He smiles at you. " I would like to make your night though before we part, by buying everything you have on you now. Sound like an idea?"
"By the way you can call me Dorn, or Bishop! Your choice, cutie."
"I'm kinda new in town too. Maybe we can explore the sights together. If you want, I can give you my cell phone number. As for my stuff, make me an offer."
"Ok great let me have it. I don't have a Phone but I do have a pager, my number is 555-9629 About your stuff, how does $1500 sound? Keep in mind that I don't know how much you have so... "
"Oh, I have a little more than that. I have about $5000 worth. My number is 555-2563. Are you hungry? I could go for a bite to eat." You respond with a grin.
"$5000 it is... " He turns and lifts the lid that hides a mini safe and quickly enters the combination, taking out $5000. He turns and holds the money out to you. "Here you go."
"Actually I just ate, but if you like then I can come with you to give you some company"
You take the money and put it in your left boot. "Have you been in town long enough to find a good restaurant? I've only been here a day."
Your ears twitch as you pick up the sounds of gunfire inside the club. A larger gun, probably a shotgun and smaller pops that sound like a pistol.
You glance at Dorn as he turns his head towards the club. He's noticed. You slide the van door open and look outside, heedless of Dorn now. You start towards the club and notice that the club is emptying out.
As you get closer you peer into the doorway and notice a man in a black trench coat standing in the middle of the dance floor. He is holding a shotgun and there is another man slumped on the floor with a bloody hole in his chest and a shiny pistol near his leg.
He is not facing the door, and you start moving towards him. As you get about half way to him, he spins around. The shotgun is pointed at your chest but he hasn't pulled the trigger yet. "You're quiet girl, but you failed to recognize that the lights behind you on the wall cast a shadow." Your sense of smell picks up the faint scent of decay that all vampires have when they take a few days between showers. "This is between me and the others, girl. Leave now if you value your life?"
Your peripheral vision picks up a shimmer in the shadows to your left behind the bar. To your right, there's another person standing on the staircase about midway down. It's too difficult to look over to see who's behind the bar and the man standing in front of you seems more important at the moment as well.
"Guess it's time for you to go now girl." Instincts make you roll to your left and come to a kneeling position with one hand on the ground. A sharp pain is in your right thigh, and you realize that a shotgun echo is pounding through the club. You feel a burning sensation in you ribs on the right as well. You can feel the fibers of your body knitting themselves up, but you don't think it's going to be on time.
The man who shot at you winces his good eye and he cocks his shotgun, "Let's try this again." He mutters as he aims at you again.
"Oh no, please don't kill me! I'm sorry! I won't tell anyone! Just let me go, pleeeasse!" You cry subtly carries through the air and you notice that the man standing behind your attacker was beginning to run for a back exit when he stops and turns towards you. The man with the shotgun however, doesn't seem sympathetic and readjusts after a seconds pause.
The shotgun doesn't go off while you leap over the bar to gain some cover. Then, the back wall starts sparking with the familiar sight of bullets slamming into it. The shot gun goes off once more and hits the back wall. You look over the bar and don't see the gunman anywhere, but the man that was in the corner grunts as he gets shot numerous times from outside and falls to the ground. The person that was next to you isn't there anymore.
A quick glance outside reveals Dorn on the ground. He has a shotgun blast to his chest, and he's also holding the only gun firing from the outside. There is a woman kneeling next to him.
This is the woman you see next to Dorn.
You look around, nobody seems to be in the bar. The person in the shadows doing nothing is gone. The gunman who was shooting at you is gone. The man who tried to help you appears dead on the ground. He looks to be another vampire, so you doubt that. Dorn mutters something to the woman and then gets up as you approach him, "You all right Dorn?"
He pushes past you, seemingly deaf to what you said and points his gun in the direction that the gunman should have been in. There is nothing there of course. You hear another man tell his companion to check out what's happening at the back entrance.
The man that spoke is wearing dark clothes. Seems to be the fashion nowadays. He's definitely a vampire, and you think the woman is too, but you can't be sure. Too many though, these can't be Setites, the Followers are more subtle then that. You look around and realize that maybe the person behind the bar in the shadows was a Setite however.
You walk up to the man moaning on the ground and put a gun up in his face, "You want more pain? Go ahead and move. Who are you and who sent you?"
He opens his eyes slowly and then looks at your gun with wide eyes, apparently he didn't hear you and just woke up.
"You want more pain? Go ahead and move. Who are you and who sent you?" You repeat, starting to get a little irritated.
He stares at you with slight contempt, "What in the Sam hell are you thinking woman, didn't you just see me help you. Shit! No one sent me! I was here at the club, and all of a sudden, one-eyed over there decides to open up on someone. I was making my way out, but I just could
leave YOU here, helpless in all. But as I can see," he nods his head toward the gun, "I was quite mistaken, cause you're far from helpless.....So why don't you put the gun down darling, and we can chat. Forgive me, if I find it difficult to speak to anyone with a gun point blank to my head."
Dorn walks up and sticks his gun in the guy's face too, "Kat I am confused, which one of these wierdos is the bad guy?"
Another man walks up to you and Dorn and looks casually at your hostage on the ground and then at Dorn, "Hey Dorn, what happened in there?"
Dorn replies "Not sure really, in all the confusion I think I lost track"
The man on the ground gets a very worried look on his face. "Look, I was just minding my own business, trying to get some free beer. When all of a sudden, all of hell's creation breaks loose on the dance floor, and it ain't some cute redhead with a low-cut shirt. NO, it some one-eyed freak deciding to replace a person's stomach with a hole. Hence, I get a bit concerned for my well being. Now, I help your lady friend here, and I'm not expect some big reward or something. But I would be very grateful if you would at least not consider me with one-eyed over there, and make judgements on my person based on my charm, and good-looks..." He gives you a crooked smile, but there is a little concern in his eyes accompanying it as well.
You lower the gun and let the guy get up. "Dorn, I guess the bad guys are gone. Who's your
friend?" You look back down at the man, " I still want to know who you are and what was going on."
The man gets up slowly, brushes the invisible dust off of himself, picks up his sledgehammer, and re-positions it in the duster, then starts muttering "Well darling, my name is Jack, but you can call me Sledge. As far as what's going on here. Your guess is as good as mine, all of a sudden gunfire and one-eyed shooting a shotgun into the crowd, and....Where is good old one-eyed anyway??" As Sledge looks around for the one-eyed man, he fingers his sledgehammer again, seemingly for a little comfort.
"Well I am grateful for the help." You return with a smile. He doesn't seem to notice as he's looking around.
"Damn!" the man next to Dorn sighs. He seems irritated at not getting into the fight. You think to yourself, that he's probably never seen enough real combat to really know what it's all about.
"Kat, I need to thank you. And Robert... What are you doing here?" Dorn continues, looking at Sledge, "I apologize for shooting you, but where did that asshole go?"
You hear somebody walk into the back door. When your eyes dart over to where the door is at, you see the woman who was at Dorn's side earlier standing there. She looks at the crowd you're in and then starts looking around the club from her position. Your sensitive ears are picking up police sirens, but they are still several minutes away, you think.
Sledge looks at you up and down and shakes his head, "Well darling, I do thank you for at least acknowledging my help. As for your friend here, just make sure you aim better next time, huh pal. Otherwise no hard feeling, cause life is too long to get mad at every man who shoots ya. I need to take care of some business, and leave. If you like Kat, we could meet sometime tomorrow. Cause I got a lot left to do this evening, and I'm sure the cops are on their way. And getting arrested isn't on the plan for the evening, neither was getting in a gunfight either. There was a lot of beer though. Anyway, so you name the time & place, and I'll be there." He waits for you to respond.
The man standing next to Dorn Bishop mutters in disdain, "I just came for a fun evening. I didn't know what was going on here."
"Hold on, man." Then he walks up to the woman that came in the back way. She looks a bit angry.
"Anything wrong?" He asks her.
"HOLD IT!!! Would anyone care to explain what just happened?!?! I am completely lost as to where you all know each other from and/or *what* you ALL are doing here. Robert?? ANYONE???" Now you know she's a little angry.
"And by the way, WHO was the creepy guy who disappeared in the shadows?" You think to yourself that it wouldn't have been possible for her to notice one-eye leave, because she was outside when he vanished. Maybe he walked out the back door. You shake your head, you would have heard the door open and close if that were true.
"Does anyone even know who one-eye is?" Dorn speaks up, continuing your train of thought.
"I think we should go and talk about this someplace else. The cops are on their way." You mutter.
"I met Dorn Bishop a few days ago. I don't know everyone else. The one-eyed man, I've never even heard of. And yes, we should move on, the cops will probably be here shortly." The one you've nailed down as Robert says.
Sledge is just standing there looking at you guys. You look over at Dorn, who starts chuckling, "Sorry for shootin' ya guy" He says to Sledge, smiling. "But you shouldn't go chasing my bullets!" He laughs out loud. He then calms down and looks serious again. "What shall we do know?" He asks looking at each other person one by one.You hear police sirens drawing nearer.
Then Marie speaks up, "Ok everybody, not to sound rude or anything but can we cut the chit chat and get down to whatever business is supposed to be or have been done? I was coming out tonight for the first time in YEARS in order to relax and have a good time. Does anyone care to join me? I do not know for what yet, but you are welcome to come. If not, I am heading out."
Marie starts walking away.
You hear Sledge loudly speak up," Excuse me, Ladies & Gentlemen of the recent gunfight. May I have your attention please?? Good. Now, we all need to get out of here before the cops show up, as the lovely Kat has point out. And honey," Sledge looks at Marie, "I know your a bit upset, but I will more then willing to tell you what happen here, and a lot more, but I would hate to see you in a back of a police car. Now, I need to take care of some business, does anyone have a place where we can meet? IF so, why don't we meet there later this evening, or tomorrow, that way we can all gather our thoughts, and calm the hell down. So once again, if you would excuse me..." Sledge bows slightly, and waits for the groups response.
"Well personally I think we look like hell, all covered in blood and such. I think we should get out of here before we get asked all sorts of uncomfortable questions. The cops are getting close. I'm heading back to my hotel to clean up. I suggest the rest of you do the same. Maybe afterwards we can relax and have some fun like Marie says." You mutter.
"Ok, well, I'm with Marie, so I'm outta here then." Robert tell everybody as Marie is walking out and then starts running to catch up with her. They disappear out of the door. The rest of them are standing there. The sirens are extremely close now. Less then a minute away you guess.
Thinking it's time to leave, you look at Sledge and Dorn, "You two can come with me if you want."
You notice that Dorn is looking around outside, looks like he has no intention of going with you. He slides out of view and you assume he's gone for the night.
Sledge says "Right then, If you need a ride your hotel Kat, I'll give ya a ride, then we can hit some bars afterword. Otherwise, I see ya all around." With that Sledge readjusts his sledgehammer and then strolls out the door and gets on his bike parked out front to the side, he looks back to see if you're coming.
The sirens are extremely close, and you don't think you could get away from the cops in your car, but Sledge's cycle, that's another story. You also know you could get away on foot, but Sledge did come and help you out.
You give in and hop on Sledge's motorcycle as he takes off, while you give him directions to your hotel.
